Drapanos is a very small village high up on Cape Drapano on the edge of the mountain above the sea.

The village is at equal distance from the two most important cities of  Western Crete: Chania (28km) and Rethymnon (30km)

Location is at a short distance (at 6 kms) from various beaches in both directions East and West of the peninsula and is perfect to discover the inner traditional villages and country side as well as the historical cities.

In the village there are two taverns, a mini market, the backer passes by every day with fresh bread and locals can provide milk, eggs, vegetables of their own production.

Nearest beaches:

At 6 kms. Omprosgialos. A very wild scenery .the road goes down the mountain to East until the sea where is a place to swim and a nice tavern.

At 6 kms. Almyrida. Sandy beach with all facilities, many taverns, bars, supermarket

8 kms. Giourgioupoli. East towards Rethymnon by National road. This is the 12 klms long empty beach. TAKE WITH YOU  Water and A SUN parasol !

The house:
Secluded property  of 140 sq.m on 1000 sqm of gardens and pool
House of artists  on 2 levels, with exclusive use of garden and pool with unlimited view to white mountains.
Each level has an independent and complete apartment.

1st floor: 2 bedrooms with one double and 2 single beds. Living room with Smart TV, Wifi, modern kitchen with all facilities, fully equipped bathroom with shower and a private terrace.
2nd floor: 2 bedrooms with 2 large double beds or four singles. Living room Wirth Smart TV, Wifi, modern kitchen, with all facilities, fully equipped bathroom with shower and a private terrace.

The garden is planted with mediterranean trees, a large variety of flowers and herbs as basil, oregano, mint, lavande and thyme, and offers many shaded spots to relax with a 32 square meter overflow swimming pool with sun-beds, pool towels, a pool bar with a large garden table and BBQ.

We had a fantastic time at Tanit’s house. At first we were worried about booking the accommodation as there were no reviews yet. In the end we were glad we did it. We were also pleasantly surprised by the interior. Before the trip we weren’t that convinced of the interior, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

We found them much nicer than in the pictures! It was all very new. The highlight was of course the outdoor area with the pool.

Lots of great places to sit and a great roof terrace off the upper apartment. I would definitely recommend renting both apartments. Then you have the entire property and the pool to yourself. In total there are 4 sun loungers, a sofa and 2 parasols by the pool. You only need about 10 minutes by car to get to the beach.

The house is on a mountain, so the view is really great. However, you definitely need a car for the accommodation. Tanit and her husband were great hosts. They were very accessible. If you had a question, they answered very quickly and were also very helpful. We would book the accommodation again and again!

Beautiful space and decor, pool area and garden lovely. We had both appartments so lots of space. Stavros and Tanit were so kind and friendly and kept the place pristine. Everything we could have asked for and I will be coming back and hopefully seeing them again as well. The area is great with lots to see and do – definitely need a car although little shop and bars/restaurants in the village. A five star place to stay.
